The Yukon Trappers Association was formed 1973. We have dedicated board members who’ll work hard in their respective fields.

The above workshop is for regular fur handling, not taxidermy.

Have your say on the proposed changes to fish and wildlife
regulations. Attend the March 4 Whitehorse meeting at the Sternwheeler Hotel, 6-9 p.m, or join the online public meeting (open to anyone in Yukon) on March 23 on Zoom session.

2026 Regulation Change Process

Review the proposals and submit your feedback
through the online survey— your voice matters! Together, we have a
unique opportunity to influence the decisions that shape our
collective future as hunters, trappers, and anglers

Our friends at the YFGA are looking for meat donations for their Wild Game Banquet and Fundraiser on April 4, 2026. If you’d be able to donate beaver and snowshoe hare (lynx is taken care of!), please email us at yukonfur@yknet.ca and we’ll let you know what is needed (how they’d need the meat prepared). Thank you!

Check out our new merchandise! Robert is sporting a good-quality green and holding a grey YTA Tshirt. We have a limited amount of them, so get down to 175A Titanium Way today to get yours. Each is CAD 49.–. YTA members get a 10% discount.

We can consign your furs in case you can’t attend the Fur Sale yourself. Please email us today!

Please note: Your furs need to be received at YTA in Whitehorse on or before the following dates: Saturday, January 10, 2026 and Thursday, April 2, 2026 (Easter weekend).

OPEN TO ALL YUKONERS WHO LIVE OFF-GRID.

Whitehorse based producer Andrea Wing is working with a TV production team in Toronto (Blink49) to find off grid families who are interested in being in an upcoming show for the Discovery Network. If interested please email: andrea@wearewelltravelled.com

The Fur Institute of Canada (FIC), in partnership with the Fédération des Trappeurs du Québec (FTGQ) has recently released a series of eight videos highlighting strategies for reducing non-target catches. These videos are designed to reduce catches of dogs, cervids, birds of prey, and other non-target species, and help trappers understand what to do if these non-target catches do occur.

These videos were prepared to be a resource available to trappers across the country and are available in both French and English. We would appreciate you sharing the videos with your members for their awareness and trapper education instructors. Feel free to also include these videos in your respective trapper education programs.

The eight videos are currently available on the FIC website at: https://fur.ca/fur-trapping/trapping-techniques/. If you would like the video files to host them directly on your own pages, we are happy to make them available to you. More information about the videos is also available on the Truth About Fur blog at: https://www.truthaboutfur.com/non-target-species-and-how-to-avoid-trapping-them/.
